VIA CHORALIS was founded in 1999 by Elizabeth Shannon and since 2005 has been directed by Nicholas Fairbank. Programming is eclectic. The choir performs a wide repertoire ranging from Renaissance madrigals and choral classics to contemporary Canadian repertoire. Besides our own concerts, Via Choralis has also enjoyed working with other choirs and performing groups in the Capital Region.
If you'd like to sing with us, click on Contact Us. We rehearse most Monday evenings, September to May. Our first session of the season starts on Labour Day, starting at 7:30 pm at the Saanichton Bible Fellowship Church, 2159 Mt Newton Cross Road, in Central Saanich (MAP).
Via Choralis Performance Society is a registered Charity (859789737 RR 0001). Our purposes are to operate a mixed-voice chamber choir, to present public concerts in order to promote the enjoyment of choral music, to encourage the performance of Canadian choral works, and to raise funds to facilitate these purposes, portions of which may be donated to support school music programs and/or individual music scholarships. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations made to Via Choralis.
Via Choralis often sings at community events and arts festivals, and in retirement homes and hospitals. If you would like us to perform at a special location or event, or if you'd like to make a donation, please Contact Us.
